Health Clinic

Our health clinic provides a variety of clinical services for the community. This includes immunizations through Vaccines for Children for eligible residents 18 and under, reproductive health services, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and cancer screening through the Maryland Breast and Cervical Cancer Program. Insurance is billed for services provided and an income based sliding scale is available for those without insurance. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. We encourage community members to first seek care from their established primary care physician.

Appointments are required. Please call 301-475-4330 to schedule. Please remember to bring your identification and insurance card to your appointment.

Patient Portal

The SMCHD Patient Portal allows for secure communication with your clinical team and access to your medical record including lab results and any follow up information.

Note: Patients will be added to the patient portal after their first appointment.

    • Well-woman exam
    • Reproductive counseling and prescriptions for birth control
    • Pregnancy testing
    • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
      • Rapid onsite testing available for women
    • Testing and treatment for other types of infections, such as vaginal yeast infections
    • HIV testing and referral to treatment
    • Cancer screenings
  • Vaccines/immunizations
    • Childhood vaccines for eligible youth through 18 years of age with the Vaccines for Children Program:
      • Eligibility criteria: Uninsured, Medicaid enrolled; American Indian or Alaskan Native

Reproductive Health Services

Our Health Clinic assists community members in planning for and preventing pregnancy by offering counseling, education on a variety of birth control options, physical exams (including gynecological and testicular exams), and education. Our goal is to provide each individual with the knowledge to empower them to plan pregnancy in a way that is compatible with their lifestyle and to reduce the occurrence of unplanned pregnancies.

Testing and/or treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is provided free of charge to individuals under 19 years of age. STI testing and treatment is also available to adults 19 years and older. This service is billed to insurance; an income-based sliding fee scale is available for those without insurance.

Clients without insurance are charged according to an income-based sliding scale fee. STI testing for those 19 and under is free. No one will be denied services for inability to pay.
