Ashley O’Neil, CRNP
Family Nurse Practitioner
Ashley O’Neil, CRNP, joined SMCHD in 2025 as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner responsible for seeing patients in the School-Based Health Centers. In this role, she provides sick care, wellness visits, and school and sports physicals for students in St. Mary’s County.
O’Neil is originally from Michigan and received her undergrad degree in Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University. In 2011 she graduated from Drexel University with her nursing degree and, in 2018, finished a Masters of Science in Nursing from George Washington University.
O’Neil is a writer, and speaker whose advocacy is rooted in lived experience. As a NICU mother, a widow, and a bereaved parent, O’Neil brings a deeply personal perspective to maternal and neonatal health. With over a decade in nursing and eight years as a family nurse practitioner, she elevates the needs of her patients, offering practical resources, compassionate support, and hope. When she’s not helping patients O’Neil enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
