LEONARDTOWN, MD (July 27, 2026) – The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) will host measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine clinics for St. Mary’s County community members. SMCHD recommends the MMR vaccine for most children and adults who have not yet received it or have no evidence of immunity. 

Vaccine clinics will be held at the SMCHD Health Clinic located at 21580 Peabody St. in Leonardtown on:

• Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. 
• Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. 

The clinics will be open to children and adults; appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. Health insurance is not required; however, it will be collected from those who have it. Community members can call 301-475-4419 to schedule an appointment. The MMR vaccine is also available daily, by appointment only, at SMCHD’s Health Clinic in Leonardtown and the School-Based Health Centers (SBHC).

On July 22, 2026, the Maryland Department of Health confirmed that two cases of measles had been identified among residents of Southern Maryland. A call center has been opened for St. Mary’s County residents needing more information about measles. Community members can call 240-735-8288, Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m with questions.
