SMCHD Announces Changes to COVID-19 Testing & Vaccine Services 

LEONARDTOWN, MD (November 7, 2022) – Effective November 14, 2022, the St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) is moving COVID-19 operations, including testing and vaccine appointments to the St. Mary’s County Health Hub, located at 21625 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, with the exception of vaccinations for infants and young children. Pfizer vaccines for children (ages six months – four years) and Moderna vaccines for children (ages six months – five years) will continue to be offered in the Health Clinic at the main office in Leonardtown. 

COVID-19 vaccinations for older children and adults will be offered by appointment at the Health Hub. COVID-19 testing will be available at the Health Hub Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. as follows:

  • PCR testing (results in 2-4 days), appointments recommended to decrease wait time
  • Rapid PCR testing (same day results), by appointment only – Call (301) 818-0443 for an appointment
