LEONARDTOWN, MD (March 3, 2025)—The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) invites community members to an open house of its facilities on March 12, 2025.
The open house provides the opportunity for interested community members to tour SMCHD’s School-Based Health Center (SBHC) at Spring Ridge Middle School and its Health Hub in Lexington Park, meet the team at each site, learn about the services offered, and get pre-registered for services.
The open house times are as follows:
Spring Ridge SBHC

The SBHC teams provide primary care services to the entire St. Mary’s County Community. Students, school staff, and any community member can be treated for acute illnesses, such as flu; receive management of their chronic conditions, including asthma and diabetes; and get routine preventative care like annual well-visits and sports physicals.
The Health Hub offers a variety of health and wellness services to all community members, including walk-in crisis services for mental health and substance use concerns. The Health Hub also has a primary care clinic, assistance with health insurance enrollment, employment support services, youth mentoring, and much more at little or no cost to the community member.
“The open house is a great opportunity for community members to stop by and learn about the health services and other programs located in the SBHCs and Health Hub,” said Dr. Meena Brewster, St. Mary’s County Health Officer. “This is a chance to speak with our team face-to-face, ask questions, and get acquainted with our facilities.”
