Fatality Review Teams

Child Fatality Review Team

The Maryland State Child Fatality Review Guidelines has a mission to “review child deaths to understand the circumstances around those deaths and to recommend strategies to prevent future child deaths.” The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) coordinates a Child Fatality Review (CFR) Team for the county that meets quarterly. The purpose of the Maryland SMCHD CFR team is to prevent child deaths by developing an understanding of the causes and incidence of child deaths and developing plans for and implementing changes within the agencies represented on the SMCHD CFR team to prevent child deaths.
