LEONARDTOWN, MD (April 24, 2020) – On April 23, 2020, the St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) identified a cybersecurity incident involving their computer network. The Maryland Department of Information Technology is currently assessing the situation.

“This challenge will not deter us from our main focus right now – protecting our community from the threat of COVID-19. We will continue to respond to the pandemic and provide essential public health services as we work with the state to address this network issue,” said Dr. Meena Brewster, St. Mary’s County Health Officer.
