The St. Mary’s County Health Department’s offers a combination of services that serve men and their partners. Services include family planning, exams, community education, outreach, and advocacy. Services are offered to anyone regardless of age, sex, race/ethnicity, or marital status. All services are confidential.
Quit Tobacco
Tobacco use and exposure is the number one cause of preventable deaths in this country. The St. Mary’s County Health Department encourages all tobacco users to quit tobacco in order to better support their health and the health of others. The Department offers free tobacco cessation classes and other resources for persons who are ready to quit using tobacco. To learn more, click here.
Reproductive Health & Family Planning
The St. Mary’s County Health Department’s Health Clinic assists both men and women in planning and preventing pregnancy and assisting families in having healthy babies. To achieve this mission, the clinic offers birth control options, testicular exams and sexually transmitted infection screening and provides wellness and pre-conception counseling. Colorectal Cancer Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment
Through the St. Mary’s County Health Department Colorectal Cancer Program, eligible residents receive recommended colorectal cancer screening services at no cost to them. Limited funds may also be available to help with treatment costs for colorectal cancer. To learn more, click here.
Immunizations & Flu Vaccine
Adults need vaccines too. Immunizations are one of the most important ways to protect children, adults, and families from serious diseases. The department’s Health Clinic offers some adult vaccines by appointment and for a fee. To learn more, click here.
Flu vaccine is recommended every year for most everyone 6 months and older, including pregnant women. To learn more, click here.
Administrative Care Coordination Unit (ACCU)
The ACCU provides education and outreach to Medical Assistance recipients to increase awareness of Medical Assistance Programs. Referrals to ACCU services are primarily though health care providers or social service workers. Individuals may self-refer to this program. Rabies Prevention & Treatment
Pre-exposure rabies vaccines and titers are available by appointment through St. Mary’s County Health Department for hunters, taxidermists, veterinary workers, and animal control officers. To learn more, click here.
