LEONARDTOWN, MD (September 27, 2024)—Maryland’s Commission on Public Health (CoPH) will hold its next meeting on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Prince George’s County at 1801 McCormick Dr, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774 Room 140. The meeting is open to members of the public as room capacity allows; the CoPH asks those who would like to attend in person to submit their request to MD.CoPH@maryland.gov no later than 9:00 a.m. EST on the day of the meeting. Those who would like to view the meeting virtually can use the virtual meeting information published on the agenda. The meeting will also be recorded and posted to the website for later viewing.

The Maryland Commission on Public Health was established in 2023 to study and make recommendations to improve Maryland’s public health system. The 16-member body is comprised of local health officers, academic partners, thought leaders, and legislators. The Maryland Department of Health is represented by the Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services, the Deputy Secretary for Behavioral Health, and the Director of the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities. Many additional leaders and professionals are contributing to the Commission’s five workgroups. The Commission’s goal is to ensure the public health system is designed to help all Marylanders achieve their best health and a lifetime of wellness. Meetings are held monthly and streamed online.
